Reviews

  • Great time!

Pleasant surroundings, very attentive and prompt service, wonderful food and plenty of it.

    Thoroughly Recommend!

It was fantastic. The hotel was brilliant, we just walked in and then left when we were finished, without having to worry about the bill which was nice. They also brought us a birthday brownie for my girlfriend which was very kind of them.

  • Truly First Class

Fabulous experience, Handled professionally and effortlessly. A first class day out and wonderfully organised

    superb

All good - decor, food and service. Very enjoyable, would recommend.

  • Afternoon tea in style & luxury

The staff were fully prepared for our visit & managed to balance their level of attentive so as never to appear too fussy.
The setting for the afternoon tea was beautiful. I would highly recommend this to friends & family.
    Many thanks

    Very friendly staff

We were 5 guests who all enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and most important, the very friendly staff.

  • We all loved the experience

They were very polite and provided more sandwiches and scones upon request at no additional charge. Furthermore, the scones were all fresh warm from the oven. We all loved the experience.

    Great service, nice treats

We were very well looked after, the tea and treats were very nice. Overall a great experience.

  • Good and friendly service

Good and friendly service, very accommodating as there was some issue where there was no reservation when we arrived. They took note of the voucher information and luckily there was a table available.

    It went as planned

It went as planned & we received confirmation & reminder emails.

  • Good food & service

Service and food were good. However the setting was disappointing - although we were in a 5 star hotel we were put in a very small and plain room with no character whatsoever.

    Even better than expected

The experience was even better than expected. Both food, tea and service were excellent. Just to sit in a quiet setting after a busy shoppingday in London, priceless.

  • First Class Service

Service was first class. Food was good. My only criticism would be the number of sandwiches was small… Personally a little more savoury and less sweets (and I have sweet tooth!)

    Best Afternoon Tea in London

When I go for tea I look for only two things: service which is not stuffy and fresh food. I found both of these at my experience at the capital hotel ...

Another point that made this experience pleasurable were the range of teas on offer. I am a total convert to flower infusions now ...

Lovely experience- I recommend it to anyone visiting or living near London! Go for it !!!

  • Relaxing and Indulgent Afternoon Tea

First of all we arrived an hour early, we were greeted at the door by an extremely helpful and pleasant man, who I think was the concierge. He took our coats and bags and made us feel at home, then he showed us to the bar to have a refreshment while we waited. The bar was immaculate and very comfortable, and bar staff were also lovely.
After our drink, we were then shown to our table for the afternoon tea. It was a beautiful little room, with a great view to the street to people watch, the afternoon tea itself was devine, and very reasonably priced for the quality of the food and of course the service.
I would highly reccomend this hotel, and I think as a treat, the next time we visit London we may stay here!!

    Perfect Tonic for My Wife

We were heading for the big smoke as a little present for my wifes birthday. Living it up in hotels and shopping is the perfect tonic for my wife, so where better than tea at the Capital Hotel. It is a beautiful hotel of elegance and luxury tucked up between Harvey Nic’s and Harrods. Tea was fantastic, with a non-intrusive proactive and friendly service. First time we tried the rose bud tea (a must have now).
