“Hiver is delectable.” The Telegraph

Why we love it

Hiver prides itself on two things - bees and beers. Taking London’s highly competitive craft brew world by storm, the Hiver's honey beers have won gold medals in both the 2018 World Beer Awards and Great Taste Awards. In a fun hands-on tasting with their founder or head brewer at their trendy headquarters in Bermondsey, discover how Hiver ferments raw honey from independent British beekeepers, combined with locally sourced ingredients, to produce a range of simply delicious beer.

What's Included?

  • Join a public honey beer tasting at the Hiver Taproom
  • Enjoy an introduction to Hiver with their founder or head brewer
  • Experience a 50-minute tutored beer, accompanied by a food pairing
  • Discover the history of honey beer as a style and its unique brewing process

Description

Founded in 2013 by Hannah Rhodes, Hiver is an all-British craft blonde beer, brewed with both urban and rural honey. Launched out of admiration for London’s urban beekeepers along with her passion for craft beer, Hannah focuses on using only English ingredient and local suppliers to support sustainability. Ten percent of the profits from the brewery are donated to pollinator charities such as the London Beekeepers Association that support wildflower planting.

Your beer tasting will take place at Hivequarters, a trendy taproom located right by the famous Maltby street food market. Led by Hannah herself, or one of Hiver’s passionate head brewers, you’ll discover the history of honey beer as a style, the unique brewing process as well as an introduction to bees and beekeeping. Learn how three different types of raw honey, each with their own unique aromas and flavours, are used as an ingredient in the fermentation and conditioning of the beer, not as an additional flavouring when fermentation is complete.

To truly appreciate the flavours, your selection of award-winning ales, lagers and IPAs are accompanied by thoughtfully selected food matches. The perfect experience for any beer, bee or foodie enthusiast!
