Reviews

  • Great food and great gardens

This was a fabulous day, ursa restaurant is absolutely stunning in terms of food, staff, decor. The interior is quite striking and I expect you could have a very pleasant evening just sitting at the bar.

Staff were very knowledgeable and were invested in the menu, which is always important to me. The portions are small but each dish is carefully constructed and full of complex and surprising flavours. Take the time to enjoy each meal; this is not the place to come to for a quick meal. Take time and listen to how the meal was put together. Its a bit like unwrapping a present.

As for what preceded this, the tour around TBG was insightful and intriguing. Really enjoyed hearing passionate speakers talking about something close to their hearts. Gardens are really beautiful, even in spring time, just seeing different plants coming back.

Car transfer was great and luxurious. Just hopped in and got taken straight up to the door of the restaurant! Can't recommend this enough, was really a fulfilling day in Toronto!

    Something for all ages

The TBG, as it's known, has a bit of everything for all ages, including a true botanical garden with labels for all the plants, bee hives, a green garden roof, fantastic lectures and courses, one of the best garden libraries, and lots of places to stroll and enjoy the greenery or a picnic.

I was so delighted when I saw we could get a private tour! So I booked this as a gift for my wife's 40th birthday. We had not been to ursa restaurant, though we had heard all about it of course. So we weren't sure what to expect - but we were not to be disappointed! Scrum-licious!

Had a wonderful day and I think we might gift this to my wife's parents for a special occasion.

  • The perfect gift for the nature lover

Toronto Botanical Garden:- This is a Beautiful place for all and specially for nature lover, children too. What a lovely place to relax and enjoy nature. When the flowers are in bloom this place is a fantastic get away right in the city, with different themes throughout the gardens you can see everything, love the way they are set out.

Ursa Restaurant:- Limited menu but don't let it fool you. The dishes they bring out are all great, very good food and some of the nicest plates I have see in along time. Sturgeon... is to die for. Great kitchen, try it you will not be disappointed.

Truly:- Fabulous service all the way through, so friendly and polite, sorted everything out for us no trouble at all.

    Conclusion:- 10/10 - highly recommended!

    An amazing garden experience

The Toronto Botanical Garden has an amazing collection plants and they used every bit of space for their plantings. It is compact but it blends in with the neighbouring Edward Gardens. The main buildings blend in with the landscape and flow into the gardens; even the out buildings fit into the garden landscape. Had a really great and informative tour guide. The meal at Ursa was intriguing and really fitted the bill to finish a great day! Thanks truly
