It’s Not Easy Being Green… Until Now! – 30 Easy Ways To Be More Eco-friendly

Want to be more eco-friendly but aren’t sure where to start? Looking for easy ways to reduce your carbon footprint?
We have you covered with a list of super easy things you can do to reduce your environmental impact.

  1. Check your fridge before making a grocery list, and plan meals around the food that needs to be eaten first.
  2. Create a 20-minute rule. If your destination is under a 20-minute walk away, walk or ride your bike. 🚲
  3. Try to get a carpool sheet going at work so people can ride together to save on gas and cut down on emissions.
  4. Suggest working from home for a day or two to reduce emissions… and work in your pajamas. 😉
  5. Switch to LED light bulbs. 💡
  6. Prevent phantom electricity from being consumed. Unplug devices that aren’t in use.
  7. Use a washing line instead of a tumble dryer. (Weather dependent)
  8. Stop buying water! Invest in a water filter.
  9. Use your own reusable cloth totes when you go to the grocery store or the farmers market.
  10. Say no to straws! ”thank you” – 🐢
  11. Say no to freebies you don’t need.
  12. Bring your own reusable on-the-go cup to cafes. ☕️
  13. Use a safety razor or electric razor instead of a disposable plastic razor.
  14. Cut your toothpaste tubes open to get the last bit of product and don’t let any of it go to waste.
  15. No more disposable cotton puds! Switch to reusable cotton rounds, they feel nicer too!
  16. Opt for products in glass instead of plastic.
  17. Opt for beauty product that haven’t been animal tested and contain clean ingredients that are better for both your health and the health of the planet. 🐰
  18. Go for recycled toilet paper. 🧻
  19. Use reusable dishcloths instead of paper towels.
  20. Say no to plastic bags! Store your food in glass containers.
  21. Pack your lunch in a lunch box instead of a brown paper bag.
  22. Head to your local farmers market.
  23. Eat with the seasons. 🥦🥕🍎🍌🍉
  24. Meat-free Mondays!
  25. Opt for smaller plates of food and go back for seconds if you’re still hungry.
  26. Actually eat your leftovers!
  27. Support ethical local companies.
  28. Look for companies that offer warranties on their products.
  29. Look for companies that are environmentally focused. 🌲
  30. Buy less stuff!
