The Restaurant – A Luxurious Location for an Inventive Meal
It is a lovely and romantic restaurant, set within a Grade A listed Georgian Townhouse in the Royal Terrace of Edinburgh. It is set out over four floors and it is very light, spacious and airy. It enjoys commanding views to the Firth of Forth from the upper level rooms. The décor has preserved many of the period features, yet designer furnishings and contemporary lighting has added a modern touch.
The exciting menu for this Edinburgh French restaurant changes every week in order to keep things fresh, seasonal and interesting. There is never any more than three choices for each course, but the changing menu offers variety for repeat visitors. For example, some of the previous dishes have been Trout with olives, aubergine, toasted oats, caviar, cucumber, hazelnuts, piccalilli and apricots or slow cooked venison with dates, garlic, Toulouse sausage, leeks, carrots, Brazil nuts, red kidney bean puree, aubergine confit and thyme sauce.

A Dedication to Top Notch Cuisine
When it comes to choosing ingredients, Paul and Katie source locally whenever they can and support a number of local businesses. However, their priority is finding the very best which sometimes means that they have to look further. They are very open with their ingredients and cooking techniques, so feel free to ask questions about their dishes.
There is a glass partition between the kitchen and the rest of the restaurant, which means that you can watch the team at work on your food. The restaurant also offers a very large wine list, with a range of selections to suit every taste. They have a sommelier, who will be pleased to recommend a wine that complements your food choices.
Why Not Stay Overnight?
This restaurant is also unique because it is the only Michelin starred restaurant in Edinburgh with bedrooms. They are the perfect place to relax after having such a wonderful and luxurious meal.
